Mark Sokol studied violin with his father, Vilem Sokol, and with Dorothy DeLay and Robert Mann at The Juilliard School. He was first violinist of the United States Military Academy Quartet from 1967 to 1969 and violinist with the Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, directed by Lukas Foss, from 1970 to 1971. From 1971 to 1987 he was first violinist of the Naumburg Award-winning Concord Quartet, in residence at Dartmouth College.
