MAHALAB are an unusual voice-bass-drum trio formed by Maurício Verderame (bass), Jamila Maia (voice), and Pedro Moreno (drums), who joined the band afterwards. In September 2005 Maurício and Jamila left the ethnic music group in which they’d met. They presently began working together, creating some of Mahalab’s first material.
