Biography
Luke J Dorman and the Dark Horses is the combined musical forces of kent based singer songwriter Luke J Dorman and fellow writers and musicians Lee Charles and Brian Langsdon.
After performing regulary on the Kent circuit, the trio moved out further a field with a highly positive reputation and a rapidly increasing audience base who were drawn to the original material and also the originality in the choice and execution of their covers.
January 2010 saw the release of the band's first self titled studio album which can only be described as a complete success. The album brings togethether the creative writing and arrangement skills of the three band members and offers a collection of all original material with hints of rock, americana and folk. The intention was to deliver a studio album which would give the listener the feel of the live performance. All care was taken to avoid an over produced, highly layered album with a loose resemblance to the performance in the flesh.
With Dorman gracing lead vocals and guitars, Langsdon delivering backing vocals and sparkling performances on steel, nylon, resonator, lap steel and electric guitars, the remainder is left to Charles to bring backing vocals, steel, mandolin, harmonica and percussion.
With a highly rated album under their belts and an equally strong reputation for their live performances, it's no surprise that the trio is fast becoming one to look out for and with more and more venues looking to secure their services, along with several festival dates now agreed for 2010, make sure you catch them.
