How to take a screenshot in Windows
Windows has made it a little easier for us
Despite everything we complain about that Windows has
Windows computers, for as far as I can remember
Have always had a print screen button on the keyboard
And that's it
So, how do you take a screenshot on a Windows computer?
Or laptop?
You press the Print Screen button
And when you press this one button, does everything for you
Windows captures the entire screen and
Copies it to your clipboard, invisibly
And then you can paste it anywhere, anywhere you want
So, where can you find that key?
Usually, the Print Screen is up in the upper right of your keyboard
You'll see Print Screen with an underscore, then under it says "sysrq"
You know, S-Y-S-R-Q, which is system request
Sometimes, Print Screen is abbreviated as P-R-T-S-C-N
On my keyboard, it actually says the word Print Screen
And to the right of the Print Screen is usually your scroll lock
And to the right of that is usually a pause/break button
So look for this group of keys at the upper right of your keyboard
So, now you wanna know, I'm sure, how do you
Take a screenshot of just a single window?
So hold down the Alt button, the A-L-T button
And then press the Print Screen button
And Windows captures only the currently
Active window and copies it to the clipboard
How awesome is that?
And once you're in the clipboard, you paste it by hitting Ctrl-V
Or you can, you know, right-click and do paste
And if you just need the graphic file
Go to Start, go to Paint, paste, then save
You're done
Alright, so some Windows computers have a dedicated program
For taking screenshots, and that's called Snipping Tool
You don't need it, you don't need it
Just hit the Print Screen button and Ctrl-V where you want it
You're, then you're good to go
