Madan Mohan was one of the greatest music directors of the Hindi film industry in the 1960s.He had a sharp knowledge of classical music and most of his songs were based on some popular ragas.Singers like Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi sang some of thir best songs under him.The legendaru movie maker,Yash Chopra as a mark of tribute to him in his movie “Veer Zaara” used his unused music compilations for all the songs, most of which were sung by Lata Mangeshkar herself.
