Lana Del Rey puts her own spin on the iconic “Country Roads”. Originally written by Bill Danoff, Taffy Nivert and John Denver. It was released as a single performed by Denver on April 12, 1971. Del Rey made the song with producer Zachary Dawes. Prior to releasing this cover, the fall, Del Rey went on a U.S. tour focusing on the South and Appalachia. The run ended in West Virginia’s capital, Charleston. And, on Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd’s “The Grants,” Del Rey sings twice, “Like ‘Rocky Mountain High,’ the way John Denver sings.
