This album was largely inspired by medieval and renaissance music and by Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars novels. The only sound source in "Gwyar" is a heavily-processed sample of Dufay's Je ne vis oncques la pareille, arranged to expand and then contract with each repetition (think AABABCABCDBCDCDD). This material is then treated pseudo-canonically. "Iani Chaos" shares this expanded/contracting canonic form.
