Joie's multi-dimensional musical Journey began after witnessing Roger Powell, of Todd Rundgren's Utopia, at Hammersmith Odeon in 1975. His original musical Tribe was a band called The ORoonies; a notorious Pagan Psychedelic thrash punk outfit, with profound lyrical content, steeped in humour and wisdom. Joie was one of the original members of Ozric Tentacles and various offshoots. He formed The Ullulators with Gavin Griffiths as a kind of alternative Ozrics.
