John Washington Dollar Jr. (better known as Johnny Dollar) was a
rockabilly artist born on March 8, 1933 in Kilgore, Texas. He was a used car salesman before his career as a rockabilly artist took off the late 1950's. In the year 1952, he recorded a single called "Walking Away" for Shelby Singleton's D Records. The record didn't go anywhere and then he became a deejay for stations in Louisiana and Mexico.
