Jerrald King Goldsmith (February 10, 1929 – July 21, 2004) was an American composer, conductor, and orchestrator known for his work in film and television scoring over nearly five decades, from 1954 to 2003. He composed music for more than 200 productions and was recognised as one of the most innovative and influential figures in film music.
