The title makes reference to Mary Monroe’s novel God Don’t Like Ugly, a book Peggy had previously mentioned in the breakout track “the 27 club” from his debut album black ben carson. The instrumental for the track samples Thomas Whitfield’s “Psalms”, and was originally previewed in HTBAR 4 as “the lord pt. 2”.
