Hyperfrenia was formed in the spring of 2013 in Peterborough, UK, by James Stretton (born 29th July 1972, in Coalville, Leicester). He has been a musician since the age of 8, starting with learning the cornet and going on to playing internationally with the Leicestershire Schools Symphonic Wind Band, Desford Youth Band, Snibson and Desford Band and individually competing. In 1991, James ended up at the Liverpool School of Performing Arts, completing a 3 year graduate diploma in music.
