Het Zesde Metaal is a Belgian indie pop band fronted by songwriter, guitarist and singer, Wannes Cappelle. They are renowned in the Low Countries for their tender and poetic lyrics, sung in the West-Flemish dialect. Established in 2005, Cappelle was backed by a changing roster of musicians until well after the recording of the band's 2008 debut album.
