Hermann Regner (1928-2008) was a German music educationalist and composer. Regner was born on the 12th May 1928 in Market Oberdorf , Allgaeu, Germany. He studied conducting and composition at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg, then musicology and folklore at the University of Munich. He received his doctorate with a thesis Taktwechselnde Volkstänze im schwäbischen Ries. From 1958 to 1964 he worked as a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Trossingen.
