Gwilym Emyr Owen III was born on July 24, 1960 in Syracuse, New York. He is an American singer/songwriter. He attended Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio but did not graduate. He moved to Nashville in 1983 and formed the band The Thieves, which recorded the album "Seduced by Money" for Bug/Capitol Records in 1988. Since then, he has performed as a solo singer/songwriter, and his songs have been covered by Toni Price, Keith Richards, Irma Thomas and Jack Ingram, among others.
