Georg Wilhelm Gruber (September 22, 1729 in Nuremberg – September 22, 1796 in Nuremberg) was a German composer and violinist. Georg Wilhelm Gruber received his first music lessons from the organist Cornelius Heinrich Dretzel (1697–1775) and was already in municipal service at the age of seven. Johann Siebenkees instructed him in “playing the piano” and in composition . He learned to play the violin from the Nuremberg town musician Joachim Hemmerich.
