Garden Grove was formed in 2002, from the remnants of it's predecessor, Calverson Community Band. The band was made up of high school students from Corona del Mar High School. The members were: Mikayel Currim on vocals and lead guitar, Eric Mirowitz on bass and backup vocals, and Ryan Ratfield on drums. Some of the rotating members included: Navpreet Kohli on drums, and Reed McMillan on guitar.
