Biography Fogdan (aka Dan Nowicki) was born, raised and has lived most of his life in Toledo, Ohio, USA. Dan was an only child, left on his own much of the time. The seeds of his interest in the blues were sown while riding the rails of the Northwest Ohio railway network in his spare time. Like a lot of American teens, he and some friends started a garage band. However, he got sidetracked from his music by the desire to race stock cars—a passion that ended quickly with a bad accident.
