Eric Gancio was born in Davao City, south of Philippines, on November 15,1969. He studied at the Ateneo de Davao Universty. At an early age of 8 his father enrolled him at the school's rondalla, a folk music class, during summer of his 3rd grade. after a month his father gave him a guitar he bought in Cebu City, which is an hour's plane ride from Davao.
