Epic of Empyrea, a Black/Death Metal band from Charlotte NC, was formed in 1998 and broke up in 2002. They played a number of shows with several underground death and black metal bands, including Blood Stained Dusk, Diabolic, DarkMoon, Envenom Thy Winds, Benighted, Abwhore, Lilitu, and others. They released a 2-song self-titled demo in 1998 and a self-produced full-length titled "Transcending the Metaphysical" in 2000. Some of the members went on to pursue other metal bands including Mysteriarch, Lust of Decay, Symphony in Acrimony, Viaticum, etc. View wiki
