Dietrich W. Prost, actually: Dietrich Wilhelm Prost (* July 8, 1928 in Anklam; † November 3, 2000 in Stralsund) was a German organist, organ expert and cantor. Dietrich W. Prost was born in Anklam in 1928. His father was a pastor. Prost grew up in Greifswald. From 1946 to 1948 he studied at the Spandau School of Church Music. His teachers included Gottfried Grote and Ernst Pepping. From 1948 to 1950 Prost studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin with Joseph Ahrens. After graduating, Dietrich W.
