The samples placed at the beginning of "Festering Vomitous Mass" and end of "Shroud of Encryption" are both taken from an interview with serial killer Joseph Kallinger. Recording information: Recorded in February 1999 at Gene Coleman's Cave (Dallas, Texas). Devourment is a band that was formed in 1995 after the demise of local Dallas based death metal band Necrocide by drummer Brad Fincher and guitarist Braxton Henry (both from Necrocide) along with vocalist Wayne Knupp. Wayne decided to move back to his hometown of Chicago, Brad moved to San Antonio, TX to get his education.
