Boris Parsadanjan (14.5.1925 - 14.5.1997), an Armenian who studied composition in Estonia under Prof. Heino Eller, has been living there since 1953. After completing violin studies in Moscow, he played with the Estonian Radio Symphony Orchestra for many years. His works show a great understanding of orchestra and instruments. There is a similarity of dramatic expression with great composers such as Shostakovich, although Armenian timbres cannot be denied.
