"Primitive Free Blues," a term coined by Aburanaburi saxophonist Satoru Kawasaki, is the basis for this unit. Mr. S (ex. Mr. Busaichedelic San), aka Mr. BS, started this group as a vehicle for performing in a local post-rock event as a post-rock-and-roll performance. The first Blasting Rod shows were performed by Mr. S on guitar and vocal to a backing track of bass and drums that he recorded himself. Mr. S has performed solo as Blasting Rod both with and without the backing tracks and has also assembled small ensembles for studio sessions as well as live performances. From… read more
