Blackie & The Oohoos is an indie band formed by sisters and multi-instrumentalists Loesje and Martha Maieu in Antwerp, Belgium. The line-up is completed by Ruben Penseart (drums) and Milan Warmoeskerken (guitar/bass).
Their songs, in many cases recorded with a distinct lo-fi approach, have been described as gentle and mysterious, their vocal harmonies as enchanting, magical and angel-like.
The band gained some prominence in Belgium by winning the prestigious Dranouter Rally band battle in 2009. Their début album, the self-titled Blackie & The Oohoos, was released in the Fall of 2010.
