The history of Basic Slips goes back to the day when Dirk, Emiel and Roel (three animation students) started jamming in the old chapel of the Media&Design Academy in Genk. They kept on pottering for a while, but loved it so much they actually wanted to start a band. The quest for a singer began. Sabina Tolu joined the band for a while, but after a few gigs she chose to go her own way and the band had to start all over again.
