Axel Kober (* 10. Februar 1970 in Kronach) is a German conductor. Axel Kober completed his studies at the Music College in Würzburg, studying with Peter Falk and Günther Wick. In 1994 he embarked upon his first engagement at the State Theatre in Schwerin. From 1994 to 2003 he was appointed first staff conductor and deputy to the General music director at the Dortmund theatre. In 2003 Axel Kober became deputy of the General music director at the Nationaltheater Mannheim and in 2006 took over as Music director.
