The post-rock instrumental group, Aviation Weather, began in Las Vegas, NV 2001 as the brainchild of Shane Sutton (Originally from Indianapolis IN) and friends Mason Ian and Joel Blickenstaff of Atlas Takes Aim. More of a collaboration than a band, Shane and Mason both worked at a bookstore where sharing music turned into jamming turned to creative bursts of songwriting followed by frenetic recording sessions at Fromunda Studios (Atlas Takes Aim's home studio).
