“One Armed Scissor” is the first single from At The Drive-In’s third album, Relationship of Command. The lyrics, as with all ATD-I songs, are cryptic. However, they represent the heavy touring schedule of the band, which ironically was one of the reasons why ATD-I reputedly split up. A “one armed scissor” is what “Vodka Red Bull” is called in Canada (Toronto) when a shot of vodka is dropped into Red Bull—similar to a Jägerbomb. At the Drive-In was an American post-hardcore band from El Paso, Texas, formed in 1994. The band most recently consisted of Cedric Bixler-Zavala (vocals), Omar Rodríguez-López (guitar, vocals), Paul Hinojos (bass), Tony Hajjar (drums) and Keeley Davis (guitar, vocals). After several early line-up changes, the band solidified into a five-piece, consisting of Bixler-Zavala, Rodríguez-López, Jim Ward, Hinojos and Hajjar.
