The Force of Nature were a briefly-lived indie rock group fronted by Kalamazoo-based Singer / Songwriter AJ Draper. The band officially formed in Saint Joseph, Michigan in January of 2003, settling on a finalized line-up consisting of bassist Adam Maly, guitarist Rick Matheny, and drummer Jeff Szakal. Though starting as an un-named back-up band, the outfit eventually developed the fan-assigned moniker of "The Force of Nature" from the Oasis track of the same name.
