The group was started by Deric Williams (vox, guitar) and Timothy Plain (vox, guitar), and later included members Jason Eliott (bass), and Scott Bolton (drums). Influences include the Beach Boys, the Velvet Underground, the La's, Bad Brains, and Master P. After endless home-made 4-track cassettes, Artbox released two studio albums: "Rock N' Roll 4 Sale" in 1999, and "Crush" in 2000. The album "Crush" reached the CMJ Radio Top 200.
