The A.V.R.O. Decibels were a Dutch jazz and dance orchestra band set up in 1935 in Hilversum by the Dutch broadcaster A.V.R.O. (Algemene Vereniging Radio Omroep). The AVRO invited Eddy Meenk previously a trumpeter and vocalist with The Ramblers to lead and select the band members.The first radio broadcast took place on April 30th, 1935 and the final one on February 25th, 1936.
