1999 was started by Johan Hinders, Kitte and Palle in 2001 or 2002 after the split of the legendery Audionom. They found guitarist Jonas Bergman drinking peoples-beer outside their rehersal space and also brought in Audionom's old projectionist Martin Malm to make visuals/films for the stage. Palle who played drums quit so they called Jonas old film collaborator friend Askar to program drums.
