보천보전자악단 (English: Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble) is an orchestral group of popular music from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (Korea) formed in June, 1985. It is famous for its performances of revolutionary and folk songs from Korea, as well as for covering popular foreign songs. The group takes it's name from the Battle of Poch’ŏnbo on July 4, 1937, when a guerrilla unit under the leadership of Kim Il Sung attacked the Japanese Imperialists occupation force.
