黑豹, Black Panther in English, was formed in 1987 and is considered to be one of the first rock bands in mainland China. They are also commonly known by the Pinyin romanization of their Chinese name, Hei Bao. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1991, features songs such as Don't Break My Heart and 无地自容, which are both classics of Chinese rock. After the album was released, Dou Wei, the lead singer, left the band and the band never recovered after this in terms of fame.
