Okamoto Maiko (岡本舞子) is a Japanese pop idol singer and actress. Okamoto got her start when she was a child as an actress and a mascot for various variety shows like Sunny Side 7 and Morning Salad. In 1984, she also debuted as an idol singer under the label Victor Entertainment with the single "Mishiranu Kuni no Tripper". But it wasn't until her second single, "Aitte Ringo Desu ka", that Okamoto became popular and call herself an "idol".
