Xiahou is a Zhuang singer-songwriter and model from Fangchenggang, Guangxi, China. Most of her songs fall into the genres of R&B, pop or bubblegum rap. Originally an aspiring novelist, she switched her focus to lyric writing and began a music career in 2010 with the release of "Rouge Flower Smile." In 2012 she placed third in China Telecom's new talent contest and was signed to a Beijing record company. She has been an independent artist since early 2014 after breaking from her company.
