Takashi Sato (佐藤隆) (born March 11 , 1951 ) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and composer. He began his musical career when he was in high school and played in a Beatles cover band. He made his debut in 1980 with "Breakfast in Beijing" ( Columbia ). In 1984, he changed labels ( Toshiba EMI ) and wrote a song for Takahashi Mariko called " Momoiro Toiki ", which became a huge hit with total sales of 337,000 copies and won him the Japan Composer Award .
