Futaba Nakayama was born in Osaka in 1981. She spent her teenage years on Yaku Island. She got her first electric guitar when she was in junior high school, and started to make songs. When she was in high school, she got a "guitalele" as her birthday present and began to play it in a band while she was at the Osaka University of Art.
