Maki Mannami was born in Osaka in Japan in 1977. She started playing the piano at the age of 3, dancing at the age of 5, writing poems at the age of 8, playing the drums at the age of 13, and vocal training at the age of 17. She lived in NY to study musical theater when she was 19 after she dropped out Osaka Art University Performing Art Course.
