Anastassia Papisova (Meldis) is a first Celtic harper from Russia. She began to teach herself the harp in 1998 because she was impressed by music of Alan Stivell and Clannad. Celtic harps were just not available in Russia. Her luck was in, however, a friend of her moved to France and was able to get a harp. Not surprisingly she was unable to find a teacher but she found how the harp was tuned on the Internet. Two month later she was invited to play at the first festival of Celtic Music in Russia (1998).
