Izmir Barok was founded in 2008 by double bass player Bülent Oral and violinist Hakan Özaytekin, both artists of the Izmir State Opera orchestra. The artists have managed to bring this project to life after 25 years of performance in chamber music. The most prominent feature of the ensemble is the interpretation of baroque music with period instruments and style. It is also the ensemble’s pride to be the first in Turkey to realize this goal.
