Sighisoara Blues Festival is by now a well known and acclaimed presence in the Romanian and international artistic environment, a major event, quite appreciated by all blues fans and lovers. The previous editions have slowly raised the festival to an international degree and confirmed the ever growing interest for blues of the Sighisoara people, the inhabitants of this old German founded town, dating back more than 900 years.
Sighisoara or Schäßburg, as it is called in Saxonian, the language of the Saxon immigrants, as also known as “The Pearl of Transylvania”, one of the most interesting and fascinating medieval towns, which, through its magnificent fortress, has become a real historical and cultural monument. Blues and history reunited under the slogan “for those who love the blues” will bring on the festival stage top names of the genre from around the world.
