December 21, 2012: the end of the thirteenth b'ak'tun. On this apocalyptic night Tilburg sludge formation IZAH will present their new split EP with Amsterdam post-rockers Fire Walk With Us. The evening will be opened by doom prophets Bitcho and Tank86 Soundsystem will be spinning some heavy tunes.

IZAH takes elements of sludge, noise, hardcore and post-rock and blends these into a dark and melancholic mix of heavy riffing, dynamic sound layering and chaotic drumbattering. Their well received first EP Finite Horizon/Crevice lead to dozens of shows with such diverse bands as Baroness, Mono (Jp), Wolves in the Throne Room, Caspian, Animals as Leaders and The Ocean among others.

For their second studio effort IZAH teamed up with Amsterdam post-rockers Fire Walk With Us for a split release. Their 11 minute noise driven, sludge fueled track ‘Antagonized’ was recorded and mixed by Textures guitarist Bart Hennephof and Pestilence/Exivious drummer Yuma van Eekelen. Final mixing and mastering was done by Textures guitarist and producer Jochem Jacobs, with whom the band is currently also working on their first full length album.

Fire Walk With Us brings a spaced out, but brutal combination of post-rock, metal en hardcore. Their signature sound, layered soundscapes versus uptempo heavy riffing, has been recorded on two digital releases: ‘EP#1’ (2009) and the full length ‘Carriers’ (2011). This album shows the band flawlessly forging together their diverse musical influences into a solid whole. Fire Walk With Us shared stages with bands like EF, Amenra, ... And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Deafheaven and A Storm of Light.

Fire Walk With Us’ tracks for this release were recorded and mixed by the band themselves and mastered by Robbe K. (Disavowed & Obsidian).

From the dirty South of Roermond comes the ultra heavy drone doom formation Bitcho. Their 2009 debut album Toybox sold out in no time and the band recently joined forces with French stoner doom band Huata on a split EP. Armed with analogue synths and three bassguitars Bitcho will blow you away with their sonic bass assault.

IZAH and Fire Walk With Us’ split EP will be released on December 12 2012 through Rising Magma Records (https://www.facebook.com/RisingMagmaRecords), the musician collective and now also record label that was set up by instrumental heavyweights Tank86 (https://www.facebook.com/TANK86rock ). Under the moniker of Tank86 Soundsystem they will be spinning some heavy drone, doom and stoner tunes tonight.
