Description

Following unique performances at Rikers Island Prison through to Carnegie Hall, Antibalas close the 2013 Perth Festival with a live show that is the stuff of legend. Lead singer Amayo guides this 12-piece orchestra through a workout of call and response, dynamic instrumentals and eruptive solos to create an explosive afrobeat rhythm to get your spirits up and your feet moving.

The Brooklyn-based Afro-beat band, taking its cues from Fela Kuti, whips a sweltering L.A. audience into a frenzy with its hypnotic rhythms and formidable lyrics. LA TIMES

Instrumental in defining the sound of the hip independent record label Ninja Tune, The Herbaliser just keep getting bigger, stronger and better. The West London duo Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba bring a DJ set full of beat-laden hip-hop, rare groove, funk and jazz. Feast on some deliciously full-bodied beats, brought to you by the original grand masters of sonic sound … The Herbaliser have never sounded better.

The renegade masters. Beats are damaging, power to The Herbaliser. Ripping up their own rule book once again. MUSIKA (UK)
