Great charts, Boss. Your top 8 bands stole my lunch money and stuffed me in a locker. Tough as nails.

hey! I appreciate just a small fraction of breakcore, I know there's tons of awesome breakcore but I guess laziness weighs me down to look for new artists, apart from enduser, venetian snares, bong ra, drum corps, goretech, and shitmat are the artists that satiate my breakcore needs... do you have any recs?

I’ve not heard any artists you named except enduser and Venetian snares. As a fan of jungle I like breakcore cause of that influence only really. The artists that I really am into are Deathbrain who is more into ethereal breakcore but is later records seem to explore more than just it imo. And Sewerslvt, it’s a very edgy side of breakcore which reminds me of NIN like song progression if you look at tracks like mr kill my self. Thanks a lot for the recommendations! 🙌🏾

I really like the emotional feel of it. I'll check out some of the artist u recommended. As for recommendations, check out Septic Flesh, I have Communion, it's really good. It's like death metal Dimmu Borgir, really symphonic.

Yes well I used to use my laptop for everything: cds, mp3s, ... That's why I have played so many tracks. And I started out as a metalhead too, but throughout the years my tastes have broadened, so nowadays, I like everything. Or almost everything.

Breakcore, dubstep and grindcore? That's not a combination I see every day. Nice!

sweet man, i have heard about bass rush on KPFK 90.7 FM. They put out some sick DnB, Jungle, and Hip Hop every Friday and saturday nights until the early morning. And they also have a program called Radio Bomb FM every second saturday I think? 3AM-6AM. They promote club Respect which used to be at the Larchmont (formerly The Bee) on Melrose blvd. But they moved to the echoplex. Subflo is one of their local DJ's and sick as fuck!! check out Radiobombfm.com and KPFK.org for more details PEACE!!

um, did that guy a few shouts down just recommend waking the cadaver? i suggest you put him on ignore...and about slam: internal bleeding started slam death metal(only on their first couple of releases) and there really isn't another band that does it any better

thanks for the comment, but it doesn't change my view on the band...to me they're just a scene/pseudo-art grind band(ala the red chord or kill the client) masquerading as a brutal tech death band

Um, I don't know if it makes sense to listen to a bunch of bands which sound quite similar in the end, but this is what I would recommend: Buried Inside, Minsk, Mouth of The Architect, Kongh, Omega Massif, Year of No Light, Intronaut, Tides, Capricorns, Overmars, Amen Ra, Lvmen and maybe Callisto, Tephra, Rosetta, The Ocean, Dirge, Manatees, *Shels and Lento

It's very heavy on the low-end, too, though the bass drums seem to sound very thin and tinny in most slam bands.

Slam drumming is usually double-bass triplet rides with quarter note crashes and snare hits.. vocals are as low as possible... guitar is usually simple, drop tuning barred chords for form riffs, built around eighth and sixteenth notes.

Slams are often very slow... it s not like a breakdown you hear in a grind band... listen to Waking The Cadaver for exapmle, they have this very slow breakdowns.

Slam is used to describe the chug chug type riffs and sections that are used. The actual name of the genre is brutal death metal.

Reincremation
slam death metal bands are usually more breakdown-oriented than other brutal death metal. a lot of the breakdown riffs are taken directly from older bands who influenced the sound, like suffocation, dying fetus, and internal bleeding. the reason that a lot of death metal fans like myself dislike slam is that we think the songwriting is generic and unoriginal.
