Solanin had a bit of an off-kilter feel, it was almost kind of like watching a dream for me, though it was funnily enough a lot more realistic compared to Punpun's style of storytelling. I was delighted to find out Asian Kung Fu Generation actually performed the song from it, it sounds pretty awesome. Sachi was also probably also my favourite character that I related to personally, and she has some very memorable lines. Is there other manga/anime you're a fan of?

Inio's works are really amazing, I'd say Solanin is one of his more accessible works, very relatable too with the kind of coming of age feelings and issues it explores. Right now, Oyasumi Punpun is my favourite of his, just because it's so unique and does a wonderful job with dealing with all the difficult themes. It was so heavy psychologically, it took me a long time to read, but the respite some of those full page art inserts near the end of chapters provided, especially all the star/galaxy themed ones were so beautiful, amplified more so by the juxtaposition with all the grime and blood and death and darkness. I don't know a lot of people who finished Punpun for that very reason though. It's also a difficult manga in the way most of the people I know who seem to really 'get' or fully appreciate it have struggled with some sort of mental illness themselves. I haven't read it yet, but I heard his newer work DEAD DEAD DEMON'S DEDEDEDEDESTRUCTION (LOL), is good.
