So, have you listened to the new Deerhunter album yet?

Asunder Sweet is really good - it sounded too tame at first, but it's just a very rich and subtle record. The shorter tracks on dont bend ascend were kind of filler, but they get into this very ethereal zone with undertones and feedback

Speaking of last songs breaking your heart, "She Wanted to Leave" did just that to me, especially with that reprise of "Dancing in the Show Tonight" creating a truly melancholy album

The Pod is fantastic, it's certainly their most "out there" album, but I reckon it's their funniest.

Nice Ween bulge you got there, I still need to give GodWeenSatan a proper listen to, The Pod is my favourite so far. Nice library!

Godspeed the other night = holy shit. Really one of the only shows I've been to where I never thought for a second about what I was doing afterwards or about how lousy my knees felt. And it was fucking two and a half hours long. Amazing. Especially all of the Ween covers they did at the end after everyone left.

I really like it. It doesn't feel like a proper "album" but it's really beautiful - I wonder how a lot of it holds up live. Structurally a lot of it is like minimal techno, haha (the loops in "bloom")

Also: I walked down the beach in a deserted, freezing cold Coney Island while listening to "Sleep" a couple weeks ago, watching the planes circle over the harbor...sublime
