Yep, Austin is great that way. It's good to be in a place where bands actually come every now and then. Glad you enjoyed it! And that Kiwanuka album is totally equal parts Nick Drake and Van Morrison, depending on the song.

I also got to see the Antlers here in Austin a month or so ago. SO GOOD.

None lately, unfortunately. Nobody seems to make it down to Mississippi, which is where I live now (for the time being, that is). It's home, but geeeeeez, it's tough moving back here from places where you have to make tough decisions about which show to see on a given weekend. :) How about you? Oh, and re: Hysteria -- I'll admit to having a soft spot for it. :) Try this, though: listen to Ryan Adams' World War 24 and then Hysteria and you'll hear some similarities, just like Hotel Chelsea Nights and Purple Rain. I love Ryan Adams but the similarities there crack me up. And to end this massive post, I have fallen in love with Re:Stacks and am working into an acoustic set I'm putting together with a friend. Whee!

I'm actually going to see Nada Surf tonight (in Nashville, that is), so I'm warming up by listening to them :) I hear they put on a great show.

Sadly, Ryan's not going to be playing around here any time soon. And I just moved here (Nashville) from New York a couple of weeks ago and haven't the foggiest idea who's playing around here soon. I need to get on top of that :) But no, I haven't heard of limbeck. Send me a recommendation or something so I can give them a listen (please, that is)!
