Being cold at festivals (or anything) is just the worst. When I was at Ieperfest last year, I had a similar experience. The weather during the day over there is lovely, it was really hot and I got to wear shorts every day, but night time, dear oh dear. I just could not sleep properly, it was freezing, trying to sleep in clothes and a sleeping bag in a tent and just shivering instead is bad oul' craic haha. The days made up for it all though. If I do go this year, which I most hopefully will, I'll be far more prepared. :) Let's hope you don't get bronchitis again this time, haha. ;D

Oh it's definitely favourable to Oxegen. I've been once, many many many moons ago and would never ever go again. I would kill to see Explosions In The Sky in the right circumstances,. Ah, being relaxed with art is a good thing too, stressing out over it is never ever good!

Not mad on the EP line up this year, but I never have been really. ASIWYFA, The Fall, The National, Gill Scott Heron and Field Music would all be acts I'd be interested in seeing, but I can't imagine enjoying any of them in those surroundings, in particular Gill Scott Heron, plus I've seen ASIWYFA enough times to satisfy me now. I can't see myself ever going to EP. Yeah, I'm glad I can back to it, I guess it was the same with Karate, I felt so refreshed once I picked up on training again after the hand break. It feels right and I'm picking up where I left off but moving in a good direction too, I think missing out on so much just left me with more drive. I guess, when it comes to art, it's something I have to keep up though, if I intend to stick with college and then further it afterward. You should just keep at it, I think once you have a project or some outline to work with, you'll find it easier to keep a flow of work. :)

Gotta love making your own shorts. I just can't sleep that late in the day, but my sleeping pattern is definitely a whole subject on its own. Haha. I like to start my days really early, but it means later on I might find myself here, hitting the refresh button on the Facebook homepage for an hour. :| Haha, you know things have gone to shit when that's what you're doing. Thankfully, being able to draw again means that hopefully won't be the case, like now. Yeah, I'm very farmiliar with him. Although his skill is impressive, overall I've not heard anything he's done or featured in that has actually been something I could listen to, just not for me really. Why do you ask? :)

Wasting days really is the worst. I hate when I do it. I try not to do it much, or atleast I do something very productive each day, whatever it is. I feel so terrible if I try to sleep knowing I've done nothing of gain with my day. Haha, they weren't that short, well I don't know really. I've been told they're short shorts, but in comparison to other pairs I may wear, they are not that short. I very much like wearing shorts. I wish we had more terribly hot days so I could wear them more and not feel the cold. Definitely think I reference the weather too much with everything. ;D

I'm glad to hear it was good. That's awesome about the USB. I don't like Johnny Flynn, but the version of The Wrote and The Writ Laura Marling did for TripleJ TV is so moving. Funny, I don't really like her, but that's one of the finest things I've ever heard. Really can't explain how connected I feel with it. My day was okay, it was entertaining but certainly could have been more fulfilling, though I did get alot done, so I shouldn't complain. The weather was perfect though, I felt totally comfortable wearing shorts. It was so nice.

Ah, perhaps I am ancient, ahah. A very young ancient. I wasn't really in England for long, I flew into Bristol and then got a bus and a train to Newport in Wales, went to the show, went to a party after, hung out for a bit the next day and then made the same trip back. It was a short trip, and I spent minimal time in England. But overall, I did have a lovely time! Hoepfully travel for a few more shows in the next while too. Had you a good day in general, haha?

That fucking sucks, I was in Bristol and Newport in Wales yesterday to go see Famine, Forced Out and Crossbreaker. It was the last night of the Famine/FO tour so it was nice to make it over for it. Had I not gone to that, I probably would have went up North to see Pink today as City and Colour was support, unless that changed since I lost interest in it. I would like to have seen him in London, but I think I was really put off by the idea of there being alot of people at it and it being noisey so that's one of the main reasons I decided against going up North. Oh and I'm allowed paint and all again, delish! What store is it? I would go to a few stores that I guess would be considered 'Vintage Clothes' shops, usually when I'm with Rob cause he always wants to look at shit and not buy it, much like myself, so when we're together, it's that, tenfold! ;D

I'm fairly lazy with most things but I find it really hard not to create things. I broke my hand in April and I've been through the fucking wars with it since, two surgeries and some complications, it's my drawing hand, I've been totally starved when it comes to art. I just want to get back to painting and drawing but I'm not meant to. I'm in to get stitches out at 8am tomorrow. :| But they'll have a check and see how it's getting on and with some luck they'll tell me I'm grand to start painting and properly using it again. I'd love that. I'd be similar to you in that sense, I cut my own hair in like a pattern. I do it three times, and on the fourth go and get it cut, haha. And generally most of my clothes have been changed by me in some sense. I tend to buy really cheap stuff and fool with it til' it's the way I wanted it to be, instead of spending a bomb. I've seen that video before, it's really nice. Amazing hat. I love watching videos of him play, it's so pure, pure and subtle.

i think i could talk all night about how good and clever paul heatons lyrics are. in my opinion he is without a doubt one of the best lyricists ever. he would easily make it in to my top 10 list, possibly even my top 5. i love the beautiful south. i still haven't listened to justin vernon but i will for sure, i have so many cd's and stuff people have lent me, i just need to find the right time. he's been noted down on the list! x

That's cool. I spent this year doing a portfolio course which was aimed toward the NCAD brief. I loved the course. If you're thinking of applying to an art college, definitely take a year to do a portfolio course instead of trying to fit it in with school. I ended up doing fairly well, I got every course in every college I applied for, so I had a wide range of options and was battling with the 'Is NCAD the place for me?' question too, and after much debate I realised, it's probably not the place for me, but is the best place for me to go, so it looks like I'll be taking that and starting there now. What English college is it? I've been introduced to more mediums of artistic expression in the past year than I had in my whole life three times over, so don't be worried about being confined to one thing. Especially if you specialise in something like Fine Art. You could end up not doing any painting and just film making, or printing or anything with that course. It's so general. :)

Hahah, that's awesome. Sure shows are my life, quite seriously. :| Yeah I really like Emmy the Great, she's just lovely and her songs are just lovely too. Ah, so you did it just like a real mixtape, you're a clever one. :) Presents like that rule. Sounds like a great idea for the cover work. You're into art so?

Paul, that I mentioned above, got it for me from Emmy The Great. It's a lengthy story, but with some odd thanks to me he ended up at her house when she was moving, giving away loads of stuff for free. Anyway, he got it singed for the laugh and it says, "To Morris, the god of meat. - <3 - Emma". He had told her my name was Morris and the meat thing is a stab at me being vegan, I don't know if anybody else in the world gets Paul's humour but I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. See, stuff like that I love. I've no time for autographs, but I think it's cool when musicians or authors draw cool things or write something funny to make something more personalised, again more unique, as opposed to just some signature that has no merit because it isn't funny, or pleasing to look at, it takes no effort. Haha, I could be on my own with that one, but if people were asking me for my autograph for some bizarre reason, I'd just be drawing mental shit. ;D

Haha, I love my noisey stuff, both listening and playing. Not so much stuff like DEP, I think they're an exception. Yeah, Mixtapes are awesome, I've only recieved a tiny tiny tiny number of them, but they were sweet. Even if some of the stuff on them was terrible, haha, but that doesn't really matter atal. ;D Making cover art is awesome. I play in a band called The Blind, we'd be far too noisey for you, haha, but the last EP we put out had pretty much all individual covers in that they were all made by hand, so every one of them was unique, one of the next three coming out will be like that too. I love doing stuff that way, I remember when I went to Casiotone, my friend Paul bought Etiquette and Owen drew a crab on the inside cover and wrote something witty, I love when bands or musicians do stuff like that! I have a piece of 'Hindu' art, it's a cheap metal that has been painted on and engraved, with a cork back. I'll have to split this message in two.

I bet they would. ;D I can't say I share their love of Bay City Rollers though. Toots & the Maytals aren't my thing, nor are The Specials, but I quite enjoy Sham 69. I recall getting some compilation years ago that had Angles With Dirty Faces on it, and I loved it, I'd say that was probably my introduction to that kind of stuff. I can't for the life of me think of what the compilation was, or find it in my collection for that matter. I recall it had a huge variety of stuff on it, I know Sugar Coated Sour by Dillinger Escape Plan was on it and at the time freaked me out a little, I'd never heard anything like it before, I'd say I was about 11 or 12, though could be wrong. Funny that I went on to love that song and everything else on Calculating Infinity. I must find this compilation now. ;D And don't worry about it, Last.fm isn't really the best place for chats sadly, sure I'm on a good bit! ;D

Hahah, that sounds like an interesting combination anyway. I'd be most interested in what records your uncles would have had and maybe still do. Probably more down my alley than the rest. I know my Dad did have a big record collection but I think he gave most of it away years ago, which is a shame. My Mam's Bay City Rollers' record still makes me laugh, it's a shame it's awful. I'm currently sitting in the shed, listening to Frustration's Endless Winter 7". Gotta love records.

The Wolves totally breaks my little heart for so many reasons every single time I listen to it, it doesn't make me happy atal, but I feel good or better listening to it? I really don't know how to explain it, it's incredible though, there's no denying that. It's probably my favourite track from For Emma... too. I'm stoked on the S. Carey solo album, he's one of the lads that plays in the live Bon Iver band. I think Jagjaguwar are putting it out in August, so I'm sure it'll leak before then. I really like the one track that's out already, it's nice. Both of my record players were given to me, buying one for a fiver does sound better though. ;D I've taken all of my Mam and Dad's remaining records into my possession, but they've nothing great bar Bob Marley's Exodus. Everything else is great as novelty eighties pop, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather just listen to my own records, being realistic and not big headed, my collection beats theirs hands down. :)

Oh, In the Aeroplane over the Sea is so far beyond On Avery Island. In the Aeroplane... is one of my favourite albums ever, but On Avery Island doesn't come close, the songwriting is so different. I've a tonne of bootleg NMH stuff, just of live shows and demos, you should try and root them out online, there's so many and most I've come across are worth a listen. I think we face our first musical difference here haha, Bright Eyes is not for me, atal. He has some lovely songs, but overall, I just can't get it, but I think the few songs he has that I do like, I love. For me, he's really hit and miss, in that, when he's good, he's incredible, and the rest, awful. I find no inbetween, sorry haha. ;D Lump Sum is very beautiful alright, I've not seen him live sadly, but most videos I've seen or audio I've heard from live shows have been mind blowing, in particular this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7IlzFP5ij4 The most moving thing. Yeah, I much prefer Still. I really love that album.

Elliott Smith and Bon Iver are two of my favourite artists ever, something so beautiful and truly unique about them, but I guess for me, they have nothing on Casiotone, I don't think anything will ever come close to his work. Coco Rosie, Joanna Newsom and Neutral Milk Hotel, your taste is impressive! Since you listen to Bon Iver, you should check out Volcano Choir, if you haven't already! I work better to that music than anything else.
